The short version
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. No tool pays to be listed here, to rank higher, or to be described more favorably. We have turned down that arrangement and will keep turning it down.
What we earn from
Affiliate commissions come from a small number of the AI tools we cover, through their public affiliate programs. We are not paid per click, per review, or per mention. Our newsletter is free and carries no paid placements. We do not run display advertising.
What that changes about our rankings
Nothing about the order. Rankings come from generating with each tool ourselves, using the same prompts, and recording what came back. A tool with no affiliate program can and does outrank one that pays, and several of our top picks earn us nothing at all. Where a commission exists, it never moves a tool up a list.
Where we have a direct interest
We build Honeybot, an AI companion platform. It appears on some of our roundups because it is genuinely in the category. Wherever it does, it is labeled as ours on the page itself, and we do not rank it above tools that beat it. Treat our opinion of our own product with the skepticism it deserves and judge it against the alternatives listed alongside it.
Why we publish this
US Federal Trade Commission guidance requires clear disclosure of material connections between a publisher and the products it recommends. Beyond the requirement, a page that ranks AI tools without saying how it gets paid is not worth reading. If you find a page where a commercial relationship is not disclosed and should be, tell us and we will fix it.
